We are proud to say we have had our first out of country hunting party - although they were here on vacation with family we had our first hunt from a party outside the United States - we have now had hunting parties from 30 US states, Canada and China ( yes China )
We are very pleased to have had such great hunting parties from so many area's. Some hunters have come from as far as 18 hours by car, pulling a trailer to hunt in beautiful Arcadia Valley. We hope your hunt is everything you thought and everything we explained it to be. Remember these hogs are NOT fenced or tied to a tree, you must hunt to have success, riding 4 wheelers all day and range shooting will not help your chances at a hog harvest. We suggest you hunt wooded area's during the day ( try to get in a thicket or on a wildlife run ) and field area's around feeders at night. When i say night hunting, I dont mean from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm -
Hogs are most active at night and to get on groups of hogs at feeders sometimes takes all night.
Avoid a lot of talking in stand - avoid smoking - use cover sent and hog lure - dont ride 4 wheeler or truck to stand and park it right next to stand or out in the field and just sit and wait for a hog to come out into the open and say "shoot me " - trust me it doesn't work like that. We have had several hunts that game camera's show hog action at feeders and no hunters present, I understand it is hard to sit in a stand when there is a hot fire or a movie playing in the trailer, but again the hogs wont wait for you to get out there and shoot them, they are a little smarter then that. Plan hard for your hunt, make sure you have everything you need to be able to sit in a stand for hours and comfort will help you do that. During times of the year when game trails are open and woods are thin, I suggest woods hunting. Find a saddle or draw on the hill side and hunt there - natural funnels are always good spots as well as trails leading to feeder sites from woods.
